Why should you do a landscape architecture project in the Douro region?
Wine, olive oil, olive groves, nature… The Douro valley is a region known for its stunning landscapes, wines, gastronomy and experiences. Most of the value of the area comes from the beauty of the landscape.
The Douro River crosses Portugal from the border until the ocean, in Porto, passing through Régua. The Douro landscape is beautiful and very diverse. Douro Internacional, at the border with Spain, is an important refuge for biodiversity. Alto Douro Vinhateiro, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is internationally known for its wine production landscapes, namely Port wine. Douro Verde, closer to the Porto region, is a mix of natural, agricultural and green wine production areas.
